The position

For our client, MOL Chemical Tankers, we are seeking for an experienced finance professional with knowledge and affinity with human resources. Because of a structural change the Dutch office will become the European headquarters and a main task is to fully disconnect from the US office in Wilton. That means a switch from IFRS to Dutch-GAAP and euro instead of dollars.

Tasks & responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping, costing, fixed assets, depreciations, payments, accruals, VAT, daily reconciliations of bank accounts and monthly closing preparation;
• Implementation and optimization of a new ERP system (TBD) and integration with other systems (e.g. PLEO);
• Preparation of annual report in cooperation with the auditors and seek/coordinate approval by the Board;
• Treasury management, including currency exchange and funding needs under the Service Agreement with MCTSPR;
• Invoice Workflow in ERP system and payments, travel & expenses management in PLEO and vendors management in ERP system;
• Monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting to HQ in Singapore;
• Responding to ad hoc enquiries from HQ in Singapore on HR and accounting matters (incl. internal audit);
• Corporation tax compliance (corporation tax, transfer pricing), managing and coordinating corporate insurance policies & pension schemes and reporting to the Dutch authorities (e.g. statistics, KvK);
• Current regulation compliance, including accepted professional standards, policies and procedures and legislation (including legislation on data protection, the Equality Act and health and safety);
• Manage the implementation of employment policies and the execution of the HR Strategy to ensure achievement of the objectives;
• Identify staffing needs, manage the creation of job descriptions/handbooks and develop and implement management talent planning;
• Manage the training and development plans and ensure they are of a high standard;
• Conduct annual remuneration and benefit surveys and reviews and determine relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for incentive schemes;
• Report directly to the Regional Director Europe.

Candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Proven experience in a leadership or managerial position with strong knowledge of accounting principles and Tax and financial regulations. Affinity with HR and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as detail-oriented and highly organized. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with strong ethical standards and integrity. Proficiency in English and Dutch is required.
