The position

This role is essential for overseeing and managing two pivotal sites in Lillo and Kallo, which are integral to Envalior's production capabilities and overall success. The Senior Site Director will hold full accountability for all aspects of site performance, including safety, operational efficiency, and financial reporting.

Tasks & responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the chemical industry, with a proven track record in leadership and operational excellence. This position is not only central to maintaining the high standards of current operations but also to driving transformative changes that will elevate Antwerp to a leader in safety, reliability, and cost productivity.

As the Senior Site Director, you will become a key member of Envalior's Global Leadership Team, directly influencing the company's strategic direction and operational e'ectiveness. This is an extraordinary opportunity to lead a major site within a globally recognized company and to make a significant impact on Envalior's continued growth and success.

1. Site Director Antwerp:

Oversee and manage both the Lillo site (production of Caprolactam, including all precursors, PA6, and utilities) and the Kallo site (glass fibers production). Fully accountable and responsible for all site operations, including safety performance and asset operations. Legally responsible for financial reporting for Envalior nv.

Integral part of the Global Leadership Team of the Intermediates Business, reporting to the EVP Intermediates and functionally to the EVP Manufacturing and SHE Excellence.

2.  Antwerp Transformation Program. Responsible for driving change in Antwerp on topics such as:

• SHE (process and people safety, environmental impact) to achieve world-class SHE performance.
• Reliability of assets. (OEE)
• Cost productivity.
• Organizational e'iciency - driving organizational change as part of the transformation process.

3. Networks and Committees:

• President of the Safety Committee and Works Council, actively participating in negotiations with unions (CLA and other dossiers).
• Primary contact for other companies on site, including aligning and following up on (reverse) service level agreements
• Spokesperson for Envalior nv and active member of several organizations, including Essenscia (federation of the chemical industry in Belgium), Voka (Chamber of Commerce), Platform Industry of Port of Antwerp, SIRA-D, etc.

Candidate profile

Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in manufacturing excellence processes (industry standards)
• Expertise in the Process Safety CCPS framework
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (L6S)
• Experience in leading transformations
• Familiarity with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and industry-standard Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes

Leadership Competencies:

• Ability to lead by influence
• Skill in translating company strategy into site-specific tactics
• Proficiency in performance management, utilizing both leading and lagging indicators
• Expertise in change management
• Capability to foster a culture of continuous improvement on site

Background:

• At least 15 years of experience in the chemical industry
• At least 5 years of experience as a site director managing a complex chemical site with over 500 employees
• Background in chemical or mechanical engineering, with a BSc or preferably an MSc
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• International experience is preferred
