Page Executive for Aurorium

The position

To lead the site team to ensure that the product portfolio is manufactured to the required quality, yield, throughput, cost and in sufficient quantity to meet customer demand/business need, without compromise to health, safety and environment performance.

Support the overall Netherlands business in a leadership capacity across all other functions if required.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Accountable for license to operate of the site from a law and regulation point of view
  • Establishes a vision for the site and the development of a strategic plan in coordination with business and corporate objectives
  • Defines and realizes the manufacturing plan short term and long term and tracks performance with relevant KPI's
  • Manages organization operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives, and policies
  • As a proprietor and holder of the partial permits, you are the direct point of contact for Chemelot Site Permit BV as an umbrella permit holder
  • Manages several operational, technical and EHS & compliance work processes
  • Creates and fosters a work environment conducive to safe work conditions and high employee morale
  • Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit with full accountability for P&L
  • Maintains authority over budget and scheduling
  • Meets compliance and reporting requirements and ensures completed work adheres to all local and national laws & regulations
  • Directs and oversees enforcement organization's personal and process safety programs and work safety standards to protect the environment, employees, and the company against harm
  • Accountable for the overall manpower & resource planning (FTE ~30, direct reports 3), work climate, competence development and performance of the manufacturing team as well as career development
  • Conducts performance management of direct reports
  • Drives profitability through control and leveraging of manufacturing costs, inventory, cost of goods, procurement initiatives, and vendor relationships, and use of automation
  • Drives continuous improvement and operational management processes through the implementation of operational excellence principles
  • Leads the long term and short-term asset planning, as well as execution of the annual capital plan
  • Leads and drives change processes and coordinates improvement projects / process changes
    • Draws up, implements, audits and improves the safety (SEVESO) and quality (ISO 9001) management system (policies, procedures, etc.)
    • Prepares and leads external audits & inspections
    • Leads and drives sustainability initiatives
    • Sets up and maintains relationships with relevant external stakeholders (local authorities, neighbor plants, partners & suppliers, regional networks, etc.), as a point of contact for the Geleen Site.
    • Acts as liaison with other functional groups and business teams within the wider organizations to represent the plant
    • Participates in Chemelot initiatives and reporting structures
    • Participates in the Chemelot Emergency Response Team and leads the Aurorium Emergency Response Team on site
    • Drive and support leadership across all other functions if required, acting as the main works council contact, as a senior leader for Netherlands

  • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly
  • Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Chemistry, or an advanced degree preferred
  • Proven managerial skills
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in production, plant maintenance, or engineering
  • Experienced in process safety and risk identification & evaluation techniques (HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, JSA, etc.)
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, coaching, communication, and planning skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
  • Problem solving skills including the ability to analyze technical data and make creative and balanced decisions
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and planning skills
  • Strong financial skills, including knowledge of basic budgeting, forecasting and cost control techniques, with experience managing P&L
  • Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to flex own style as needed to influence and drive results
  • Demonstrated high technical attitude as well asanalytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment within a multi-functional, organizational structure and exhibit robust interpersonal skills
  • Excellent proficiency within Microsoft products as well as ERP systems
  • Critical thinking and conflict resolution skills and analytical abilities which allow assessment of customer service issues, situations, and opportunities
  • Ability to engage with multiple internal and external stakeholders at various levels including senior management
  • Wide knowledge of Operational Excellence Processes
  • Experienced in leading and facilitating organizational changes
  • Knowledge of and experience in project management
  • Excellent Dutch & English language skills (both written and oral)
