Our client is a global leader in industrial packaging products and services. They produce steel, plastic and fibre drums, intermediate bulk and reconditioned containers, coated recycled paperboard, tubes and cores and a diverse mix of specialty products. They also manufacture packaging accessories and provide filling, packaging and other services for a wide range of industries. The company has over 220 operating locations in 37 countries, to serve their global and regional customers. For the region EMEA & APAC with over 70 locations, we are searching for a Safety Manager.

The position

In this new role as Safety Manager your ensure to stay compliant with legal and internal safety requirements . You anticipate future trends within safety and proactively identify where the organization should focus to minimize risks and maximize impact. This will encompass all activities surrounding our safety programs, training, and incident management. You will be working with all production sites in EMEA & APAC as well as the regional leadership teams. You report to the Global Director EHS, Quality & Compliance and are part of the EHSQ team.

Tasks & responsibilities

Your main responsibilities:

  • Monitor legislation, access impact and initiate actions
  • Maintain global procedures and support sites with implementation packages for the different certifications
  • Oversee 3rd party audits & Internal audits
  • Validate data & create monthly reports
  • Develop and maintain digital solutions for data management as well as process applications
  • Drive root cause analysis of incidents & ensure learnings are applied
  • Monitor trends and initiate corrective action program to get back on track
  • Oversee MOC
  • Develop & deploy global safety roadmaps
  • Develop and deploy the safety training portfolio

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong experience with industrial safety and global safety programs within a international multi-site production environment, preferably in chemicals, food or pharma.
  • Continuous improvement and Problem solving techniques
  • General auditing skills in safety management systems.
  • You are a strategic thinker and experienced in communicating on high level
  • Pro-active, self driven and hands-on
  • Safety training & network events
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Able to travel is an essential requirement
