The position

The Plant Director will be responsible for leading the site in Amsterdam. We are looking for an entrepreneurial all-rounder who is able to make the team thrive and deliver results. In this role, you are P/L responsible for the site. You will report directly into the MD of the company.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Measure and monitor operations performance and ensure continuous improvement in performance.
• Lead and implement cost savings, continuous improvement, and operational excellence programs
• Ensure all safety and quality procedures are followed and improved
• Full P/L responsibility; propose investments, prepare budgets, forecast and financial reporting
• Monitors, communicates, and improves financial and operational results of the company
• Manage production schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure on time delivery and quality of products
• Empower and develop the site management team
• Identify necessary resources in order to accomplish tasks, including recruitment, retention and development of team
• Network with stakeholders inside and outside to develop and share knowledge, experience, leverage best practice
• Manage the transformation of the new production line

Candidate profile

• University degree in Business and Engineering
• Minimum 15 years' experience in site management, preferably in one of a few of these industries: plastic recycling, compounding, waste management or chemicals
• Excellent financial and analytical skills including cost control and budget
• Strong knowledge of Operational Excellence
• Commercially savvy
• Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to work on operational to strategic level
• Result- and solution oriented
• Excellent communication skills, at all levels
• Excellent leadership skills; effective and inspiring in people management, team player
• Natural leader with a positive attitude who stands for a pleasant working atmosphere and results
• Affinity for sustainability
• Fluent in English. Dutch and Polish are a plus
