The Middelburg site was established in 1968 and Eastman acquired it in 2001. The key products produced are rosin and hydrocarbon resins, including Regalite™ hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin. The product end uses are adhesives, printing inks, coatings, paper production, paint, food industry, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, textiles and building products.

The position

Together with your team of 5 direct and 16 indirect reports, you will oversee all maintenance and construction related activities during turnarounds, recommissioning and operational excellence projects. You are an authentic leader who knows how to enable your team to grow in a fast-changing environment. You will focus on mid- and long-term production responsibilities such as the site’s Process Improvement portfolio, operational work preparation and ensuring timely inbound and outbound of Raw Materials and Finished Goods.

In addition to process improvement, you will take the lead in Product Line team meetings in order to unlock the site’s potential. You will be provided the unique opportunity to contribute to the product line’s value and site’s success. Apart from the fact that you are result driven, you are committed to SHEQ rules and regulations onsite. The in- and outbound goods flows make your operations heart beat faster. You are fascinated by the product flows that enter and leave the site by means of multiple transport modes and are capable of managing the raw materials and molded products on the aspects time, quality and safety. 

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree, preferably in a technical subject.
  • Experience operations, maintenance and/or process improvement, preferably in the chemical 
  • Authentic leader who knows how to enable your team to grow in a fast-changing environment.
  • Result driven and with a bias for action.
  • Eager to enable continuous improvement, a six-sigma qualification is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
