In a complex international company responsible leading, developing and extending the Operations function for the Benelux. This Director reports directly to the European Operations Executive. The Benelux Operations Director is the policy making authority at country level, customizing company standards to local conditions. This position is situated in a multi-site operation with various functional disciplines and ~5 direct reports with a total headcount of 50+. Responsible for leading a delivery of a 1st class customer focused organization, drive year over year productivity within the maintenance & Selling, execute regulatory compliance, improve all operational Key Performance Indicators & drive services growth.

Description of the position

The Operations Director holds a wide array of responsibilities and has a large scope over the Benelux organization. These responsibilities are divided over several key areas of the business with challenges on both practical as intellectual levels. The position works closely with all functional areas and delivers clear and effective communication.
The position is charged with the execution & development for the company's customer service delivery and will be the driving force behind the strategic thinking, customer experience and organization design of the Benelux region. Aiming to deliver exceptional services and customer excellence and drive margin ownership throughout the Benelux organization.
Reviewing the regional footprint, identifying best practices on a European level and developing a relevant strategic business plan for the region to review performance and plan for further improvements is part of the position. Part of this will be the further improvement of the geographic coverage of the maintenance supplier network as well as the previously mentioned service delivery levels and payment terms. Reviewing credits and the identification/rectification of any process issues.
The position has full responsibility over the regional HR and operational staffing levels. The Operational Director will be providing ongoing support & development to Direct reports as well as coaching and development of all operational personnel. This will most likely mean the management of workshop programs (people, process, efficiency & productivity, maintenance) in order to provide ownership to exceed Key Performance Indicators. Additionally the position is charge with creating awareness, ownership and compliance with company Environmental Health & Safety programs.
The Operational Director is responsible for achieving and exceeding the capital asset utilization rates in accordance with budgets and targets as well as the definition of and adhering to General & Administrative Expenses budgets. Additionally the position has to ensure capital asset quality and portfolio profile in a consistent manner and within budget to maximize utilization targets while accounting for them in accordance with company policies & procedures.
Deliver compliance to all company policies, processes & procedures; handling issues in a proactive manner and consistent with legal and environmental guidelines.

The ideal candidate

In this position it is essential to exhibit a certain level of maturity, be of diplomatic nature and have a well developed cultural radar and awareness in order to create sufficient basis within the organization. With particular attention to the culture of the company one has to be able to quickly achieve critical mass of the influencing population with regard to change and the management thereof in the broadest sense of the word.
You will have a change management mindset and are mainly results orientated while not loosing sight of cultural aspects. You are externally focused and project a professional personality in a confident manner without seeming impersonal or pretentious. As a person you have a high level of commitment, energy and enthusiasm. You have exceptional negotiation and project management skills, communicating, motivating and influencing in a clear and effective manner.
Over the past years you have proven to actively demonstrate Growth Values leading from a visionary approach and strategic focus. You are used to working across matrix structures and are thus able to manage remotely. You have a hands-on management style in combination with excellent leadership and team building skills.
You will most likely have a master degree Supplemented with MBA or equivalent. Possibly you have a Prince 2 or six sigma certification with in-depth knowledge of operating systems. Vision & execute the delivery of a well defined business strategy.
Seasoned Operations Leader with 10 years experience at a (inter)national level. Has experience in a services environment and the ability to drive productivity. Track record in execution and delivery of 1st class customer experience.
In essence you are a quintessential change manager with high level of commitment, financial acumen and a strong analytical mindset.
