One of their international businesses is active in special paints. Their clients are distributors, body shops, fleet owners and producers because they treat customers as partners. This business unit understands this better than anyone does. With operations in more than 60 countries, clients can count on my client for outstanding customer service and reliable deliveries. My client delivers also offer training, full technical and logistical support, and detailed knowledge anywhere in the world. The industry provides strong, stable and sustainable cash flows with low cyclical movements and modest capital investment requirements.

The current focus of my client is aimed at:

  • Growing in the emerging markets of EMEA and Central America, through a combination of organic growth and selected acquisitions. 
  • Strengthening the position in key mature markets, mainly through small and medium sized acquisitions. 
  • Their ambition is to consolidate our world-leading position in paints and special coatings in key geographic countries and regions.

The position

For the special paint business unit Hays Executive is searching for: Mixing Sites Manager Europe - Multinational based in Germany (Stuttgart) or Spain (heavy travel). The Mixing Sites Manager Europe manages mixing sites in Europe, assuring an optimal level of service, quality and cost. Defines standard processes among country mixing sites and ensures the execution APC business strategies and related projects in the local sites.

Reports to: Business Unit - P&L Manager

Specific tasks

  • In collaboration with the BU Manager, defines and implements the mixing Sites strategy to follow in local sites.
  • Plans, coordinates and follow-up operation activities among the mixing sites, ensuring quality and cost targets are met.
  • Increase, quality, flexibility, productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Establishes standard procedures to enhance operational efficiency and productivity standards among country mixing sites.
  • Ensure proper implementation of projects in all Mixing sites in consistent way and ensure good coordination between country sites.
  • Increase knowledge sharing between country mixing sites to improve efficiency, flexibility & re-activate, etc.
  • Further optimize the improvement processes for development and production, minimize lead times and promote quality processes.
  • Define project plans and investments to start new mixing sites when required (Italy, India, Russia etc) and follow the implementation.

Languages: Fluent in English and preferably fluent in one or more European language (Spanish, German, French, Dutch).

Education: University engineering and / or production

Minimum experience

  • 10 years Site Management - P&L experience  
  • 7 years relevant management experience
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in the paint industry
  • Multi-year internal and external industry experience concerning products, strategy and services
