Managing Director NL

For our client, a manufacturer of products for the building & construction market, we are currently looking for a Managing Director for the organization in the Netherlands.
The position directly reports to the headquarter, which is located in Western Europe. 

  • International, stock listed company

  • Growth of existing business & development of new market segments
  • Travelling required.

Responsibilities and deliverables

  • Develop and further grow the business and turnover of the company in the Netherlands. Spot and signal new opportunities within the company and within the Dutch market and capitalize on them.
  • Full Profit & Loss responsibility.
  • Develop a clear vision on the entire organization and translate strategic goals into concrete plans and structured action programs. Develop plans to bring new products to the local market.
  • Networking, lobbying and influencing project developers, designers, architects and governmental committees/decision makers.
  • Prepare monthly and yearly forecasts as well as report all financial results to the headquarters on a regular basis.

Profile of the ideal candidate

  • Masters degree in Engineering or another relevant area.
  • A minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in B-2-B sales and industrial marketing of which at least 3 years at senior level in relevant building products industries in the Netherlands, ideally within an internationally operating organization.
  • Established network and experience in lobbying amongst project developers, designers, architects and governmental committees/decision makers to get products specified.
  • A proven track record in business development and commercial negotiation, combining the ability to drive new business development, leveraging commercial contacts within the international group and maintain existing relationships.
  • Experience managing (sales) teams of at least 15-20 people, ideally more.
  • Experienced in developing short and long term strategic plans.
  • Portfolio Management: Product- and Market competences as well as development of Business Plans.
  • Charismatic leader with strong people management and coaching skills and the ability to delegate.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude; ability to take initiative, work independently and operate with minimal supervision
