The position

VOPAK’s Global Project Management team is led by the Global Director Projects and is composed of four Global Manager Projects. Two of them are responsible for reviewing and supporting global projects and another Manager Projects is responsible for the global project management systems and tools.

We are looking for a Global Manager Projects responsible for the Vopak Project Management (VPM) approach and capabilities. 

Tasks & responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Defining, developing and maintaining the global integrated projects approach including implications for people, process, systems & tools and organisation & management within Vopak.
  • Implementing and monitoring the application of the global projects approach within the operating companies worldwide
  • Keeping up to date with project management developments and innovations on for Vopak relevant expertise areas and translating the innovations to the integrated global projects approach
  • Reviewing, analysing and advising on proposed project improvements and/or deviations for the in- and external customers
  • Defining, developing and maintaining the VPM standard and guidelines
  • Implementing and monitoring the application of the VPM processes standard and guidelines on a global, divisional and operating company level
  • Defining and implementing a global project process and performance indicator framework
  • Reporting and analysing global project statistics and making recommendations for improvement and risk mitigation
  • Translating current and future training and development needs into a global project management learning and development curriculum
  • Developing an annual project learning and development plan in close cooperation with relevant audiences at a global, divisional and operating company level
  • Implementing and executing an annual learning and development plan for the Vopak project management staff
  • Providing expertise and support to the management of green and brown field projects

Candidate profile 

  • Master’s degree in a technical subject. MBA preferred
  • Successful project management experience in the industrial sector
  • International working experience, open to international travelling (approx. 10%)
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Residing in the Netherlands or willing to relocate
  • Strong persuasion and influencing skills
  • Strong organisational and cultural sensitivity
  • Coaching and training skills
