De functie 
OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

To grow and lead the current business and/or establish future Testing operations of the company in the respective country - in accordance with the Group Strategy and Guidelines, notably to exceed business expansion and profitability goals.

MAIN ASSIGNMENTS:

The General Manager Food for the Netherlands is responsible for the day-to-day leadership in cooperation with the managers of the subsidiaries. Furthermore leads the build-up of the company through organic growth and acquisitions as agreed with Group management. He/she must manage a local laboratory & analyses production capacity in order to meet the companies standards. He/she develops and implements the strategy leading to the collation and preparation of the Group business plan. Streamlines the operational processes and makes good use of IT to achieve high efficiency. Increase profitability to meet best industry standards. The General Manager leads the marketing and sales processes and ensures that the relations with the clients are smooth and efficient. He/she takes part in Group projects, initiatives and assignments in the respective country and abroad as agreed with management from time to time. Leads and supports the development of the individual performance of the Business Managers. Reports directly to the respective Group Division Director.
  
De eisen 

  • Academic background. F.e. Master in Sciences or business degree (MBA or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience and proven management skills in a blue chip company, preferably in the Food industry.
  • At least 3 years as General Manager or Head of Division with full responsibility for P&L and proven financial success is required, preferably in the business to business services sector.
  • Experience with organization development. Strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with international groups will be highly appreciated to ensure easy integration into the Group structure.
  • Strong proven management/leadership skills, inspiring and motivating people to take responsibility and initiative.
  • Strong sales & marketing focus/experience.
  • Strong operational experience with focus on change- en cost management.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytics, highly energetic, entrepreneur, goal driven, tough and resilient in face of challenges.
  • Affinity with acquisitions and creation of synergy.
  • Fluent Dutch and English is required, both verbally and written.
