The role:

The European Service Manager directs, plans and organizes the services in a cost effective and efficient manner and has two distinct roles: a) Industrial Automation (IA) Services for the Netherlands and b) IA Services for Europe. The European Service Manager reports to the Vice President IA Delivery & Services. 

Tasks NL-Services:

  • Defines and implements the Services strategy in line with global directives and business goals;
  • Assesses and optimizes the services, programs and operational standards compliant with the strategy;
  • Directs and supervises the services department(s) in the European headquarters;
  • Contributes to optimize the services process while eliminating waste;
  • Improves services procedures to achieve competitive Total Life Cycle Solutions;
  • Supports contract negotiations and contract management, including services for multi-disciplinary Services Maintenance contracts and Life Cycle Services Automation Contracts;
  • Drives and supervises migration, modifications, safety and other services related projects;
  • Contributes actively to and leads standardization programs;
  • Takes the lead in services cost reduction programs;
  • Builds equipment and resource supplier relationships and supports the sales management;
  • Provides staff coaching and training as well as their professional development plans;
  • Ensure adequate staff or contractor levels to execute maintenance, modifications, migration, customer support and other Service functions;
  • Participates in and contributes to the organizations global services program;
  • Continually monitors and adjusts execution models to enhance the departments’ efficiency, growth and profitability;
  • As Senior member of the Delivery & Services Management Team, promote the values, direction and customer centric approach of the department. 

Tasks Europe Services:

  • Develop standard service practices and guidelines as well as procedures to ensure a high quality and universal approach to customers.
  • Direct the Service departments to follow the developed service strategies;
  • Initiate, develop and execute the Regional Service Managers events;
  • Develop Global strategy together with Regional Maintenance Managers and within the framework set by the organization’s Headquarters;
  • Support and develop other events like Delivery & Services conferences.

Requirements:

  • Senior Management experience in Industrial Automation Services (15+ years’ experience) in an international environment;
  • Experience and ability to develop people must be demonstrable;
  • Excellent tactical and analytical abilities;
  • Ability to create and maintain good customer, supplier and subsidiary relationships at Managing Director level;
  • Must enjoy working in and with teams;
  • Entrepreneurial attitude is essential.
  • Must be proficient in the Dutch and English languages.
