Job Description:

Our client is actively searching for a Business Unit Leader to join their global management team. Our client is the world’s largest provider of scientific staff to small businesses and Fortune 500 companies alike.

Critical to our clients is the development of its business in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)
region. The EMEA region consists of our client Operations in 20 countries across Western & Central/Eastern Europe, UK/ Ireland and the Nordics with more than 400 branches and c. 2,000 permanent employees.
 
The role:
 
The Business Unit Leader we seek is someone with considerable operations management experience within the pharmaceutical, clinical research or biotechnology market who can set the strategic irection of the business unit and work within the region to ensure delivery of the plan. The candidate must be driven, innovative, results-oriented, and possess a strategic thought process with a demonstrable record of delivering results. The Business Unit Leader will report to the EMEA Vice-President & General Manager Professional and Technical Division.
 
Responsibilities/Accountabilities will include: 
  • Develops and executes the business unit’s strategy
  • Sets growth targets for the business unit
  • Explores new areas for growth and targets industries, sectors and market niches
  • Monitors branch performance against business unit targets
  • Jointly with country management, develops action plans as needed
  • Develops and maintains pan-European customer relationships
  • Trains staff on business unit specific material
The ideal candidate: 
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in English and at least one mainland European language
  • Minimum Experience Required:
    • 10 years in a life science discipline. Previous experience within the recruitment field is a plus.
  • Skills Required:
    • Exposure to multi branch and multinational environment
    • Successful history in managing sales and operations
    • People management (should have managed large teams and delivered in a profit centre environment).
    • Functional competence in the specialty field.
