The product range comprises a.o. pastry mixes, fruit fillings, glazes, flavourings and frozen products, like muffins, brownies and cakes. These products are sold to artisan bakeries, industrial bakeries, retailers and food service customers. Dawn Foods Europe has production facilities in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Portugal, Hungary and Romania. For Dawn Foods Europe we are currently searching for a professional
 
Function:

• Responsible for the international purchasing performance of raw materials, packaging materials and other sourced products
• Leading and developing the international purchasing team consisting of 8 direct reports, who are located throughout Europe
• Proposing and achieving the agreed purchasing targets and improvement programs
• Aligning the purchasing goals and activities with global purchasing policies and with European cross-functional programs and activities
• Facilitating the sharing and implementation of best purchasing practices to insure efficient operational execution and consistency across all European locations
• Acting as sparring partner for Category Lead Buyers in the major and critical negotiations and contracts with key suppliers
• Initiating and realising business opportunities and cost reductions in the supply chain, in close co-operation with other functional disciplines
• Reporting to the VP Operations Europe

Profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an economical or technical direction
• Relevant and senior work experience in Purchasing in the international food and/or food ingredients industry
• Strong management and coaching skills and comfortable working in an international matrix organisation with both direct and functional reports
• Located at the European head office in Amstelveen (close to Amsterdam) and prepared to travel frequently throughout Europe and occasionally to the US head office
• Excellent communication skills in English and preferably other European languages
• Personal skills: self starter, analytical, business acumen, strategic decision making, planning and organising, sharp negotiator, results driven and tenacity
