The organization

Our client is the world leader in the manufacturing of advanced technology systems for the semiconductor industry.

Within our client Product Groups are accountable for the development of the final products. The Project Management Office [PMO] supports these Product Groups and the R&D organization by providing project, program and portfolio management support.

The Director PMO reports operationally to the VP Product Group VP and functionally to the CFO. You are part of the Product Group’s Senior Staff and you have internal interfaces on all levels within the organization.
 
The role

Responsible to deliver cross sector project & program level support by executing or ensure adherence to world-class project management processes and methodologies and provide timely and accurate project information to secure effective decision making.

Main responsibilities

• To gather and leverage best practices from inside and outside the organization and contribute to the continuing development of a world-class PMO.
• Co-develop the project management methodology and client-specific tools/templates as well as ways-of-working.
• Provide steering and knowledge transfer to project and program leaders on client-specific methodology, adequacy of tools/templates and on ways-of-working.
• Provide project and program management reporting to support and secure effective decision making.
• Build and maintain enduring relationships with client’s senior [program and project] executives and act as a 'Trusted Advisor' on matters relating to Program and project management.
• To lead, design and implement high quality interventions based on an in-depth understanding of best-in-class practices commensurate with sustainable improvements in project and business performance.
• Develop the competence of the Project Management Office employees to secure the right level of expertise to provide the optimum service to the end-customers.

 The candidate

• The ideal candidate must have at least 15 years of project / program management experience in progressing responsible roles and increasing scope. The experience must be obtained in highly professional, dynamic surroundings. Preferably within a international environment.
• Significant cross-functional/cross business project leadership experience
• Deep understanding of how to effect sustainable change in large organizations.
• Excellent consulting skills.
• Deep facilitation experience.
• Strong team leadership, decisiveness, initiative, giving direction, influencing without power.
• Executive presence and credibility.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both oral and written.
