The position

The main goal of the position is to lead and optimize assembly operations, ensuring that production meets quality, efficiency, and cost objectives. The Director Operations is responsible for aligning the assembly organization with the company's strategic goals and driving innovation through process improvements and technology adoption.

The Director Operations reports directly to the Managing Director. He/she works closely with other members of the Management Team and the respective customer representatives. Driving innovation in assembly processes, including the adoption of advanced technologies such as automation, AI-driven quality control, and smart factory solutions is one of the key tasks. Additionally performance optimization: overseeing assembly operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded. Finally: vendor and supplier relations involve managing high-level relationships with key suppliers, ensuring that they meet the organization’s standards for quality, delivery, and costs. Client relationships: Together with the Business Development and Program Team, the Director is responsible for managing key client relationships.

Candidate profile

• academic background (preferably technical education); fluent in Dutch and English; 
• track record of broad operational leadership and/or general management roles within high-tech manufacturing and engineering environments;
• an eager and seasoned leader with a solid operational background;
• he/she has the experience required to work in an operational leadership position within a complex, high-tech, manufacturing industry;
• the candidate has extensive experience with assessing operational variables within organizations and has the skill to design and implement improvements through effective planning;
• the ideal candidate has a strong drive, is energetic with entrepreneurial spirit;
• proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality control, and supply chain;
• experience in managing budgets, cost control, and capital expenditures (CapEx) for large-scale operations;
• strong understanding of business metrics and the ability to translate operational data into strategic insights for executive leadership; 
• experience working in international, corporate organizations and engaging with teams from different cultures;
