Director of L&D Europe

Organisation:
The client is a pioneering and fast growing global business with offices throughout the world. They are a leading provider of local online marketing solutions for small and medium sized businesses. From demand of the market they are now planning to grow the business further in Europe.
We have been retained to find a highly professional, multi-lingual, European Head of L & D with a proven track record in designing and delivering training programmes to a large sales force across an International business.

The rol:
The European Head of L & D will be responsible for driving rapid training innovation through overseeing the design, development and implementation of world-class training programs. The successful candidate will have the ability to simultaneously manage rapid change in a high-energy, technological company and sales force within this highly visible position.
Reporting directly to the European CEO person will act as a key business partner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partnering strategically with Marketing, Service, Sales Operations, Technology, HR and Executive Leadership to assess needs and performance gaps, resulting in comprehensive training solutions.
  • Leading a team to train and develop new and existing European team members in the content areas of sales, product, technical, service, compliance and leadership.
  • Leveraging global training teams’ curriculum, resources and infrastructure to design & develop and constantly update basic and advanced learning programs within local offices across Europe
  • Evaluating participants’ performance in training, reporting results to participant and management, follow-up with additional training and field work as necessary to ensure success
  • Working with Sales Leadership across Europe to train, develop, coach and evaluate field personnel
  • Exhibiting expertise and focused knowledge on specific products.
  • Working with company leadership to support regional training events and coordinate/maintain all associated training documentation.
  • Overseeing the design and development of new product pre-launch education materials before general field distribution.
  • Acting as regional, point of contact for global training advisory team (calls, projects and collaboration).

Requirements:
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in all areas of Learning and Development, with hands-on experience of identifying, designing and developing training courses in different European countries.  You will be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and internal customer service. A natural forward planner you will be reliable, tolerant, and determined. You must be sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel across Europe on a regular basis. Possessing the ability to start and build this new department (including the initial roll-up your sleeves work required) you will have the ability to transition successfully to a leader that will manage a Training function to support this high growth environment. The Ideal background would be in digital media, technology, or a business with a high level of proactive B2B sales activity. A natural leader with excellent communication skills you will demonstrate a proven experience of managing a growing European entity across several countries at a senior level. Being fluent in written and spoken English and Dutch is a prerequisite.

Salary Indication:
Competitive plus Bonus & Shares
