De organisatie 

The organisation delivers search and retrieval technology that reduces the amount of time needed to find what someone is looking for. The organisation simplifies information from both structured and unstructured information from corporate databases, emails, blogs, files, intranets or internet site. It provides users with technology that is easy to use, affordable, interactive and accessible from desktops.
The organisation is unique in that it's software helps to classify, store, retrieve, process and comprehend enterprise critical data in the same way that humans do, with all the advantages of automation.  
  
De functie
 
The Commercial Director reports to the Board.
The objective is to drive the development and growth of the organisation and establish the business as a leading player with its present enterprise semantic search solutions and soon to be launched semantic search, classification and summarizer desktop products.

Key responsibilities

  • Fine-tune and execute the strategy of the company and build the go to market organisation;
  • Facilitate the sales process by liaising directly with clients, key opinion leaders and/or business partners as necessary;
  • Manage the services department which is needed to implement the enterprise solutions at clients;
  • Set up a support department once the volume of the enterprise customers and desktop customers requires so;
  • Strengthening the current reseller/OEM network is however a key task;
  • Achieve revenue and profit objectives as agreed with the Board.  

De eisen 

  • Entrepreneurial and international business experience, particularly within Europe and with large OEM type corporations in US and UK;
  • Experience in everyday sales management in a small company, including maintaining sales pipeline and forecast, and financial budgeting and forecasting;
  • The Commercial Director needs to have down to earth approach given that initially the Commercial Director is the sales and marketing department. Hence having build businesses from scratch to a volume of 15m euro is an advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed in order to build the strong relationships that will be critical to the success of this role;
  • Capable of building, commercially managing and leading a entrepreneurial and technical business;
  • Experience with and understanding of the information management market would be advantageous.

De arbeidsvoorwaarden 

Total salary will be in the range of 80k to 120 k excluding an attractive bonus package

Fixed salary 70%
Variable salary 30%
Equity: options to buy shares are part of the remuneration

The major incentive will be through the share options scheme which will benefit the entire management team on a successful exit.
