Heerlen houses our largest Distribution Center outside of the U.S. Every day, about 450 professionals in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Warehousing and Logistics work closely together to order, ship and deliver around 50.000 medical products and devices to hospitals around the world. We are currently recruiting a Director Supply Chain & Customer Service for one of our fastest growing regions in the world: Central & Eastern Europe, Greece and Israel (CEEGI).

Our Offer

As Director you provide strategic and operational leadership for the customer service and supply chain functions of Medtronic in Central and Eastern Europe, Greece and Israel. Within this challenging role you will liaise and collaborate with business leaders and field sales organization to develop the long term plan of actions to achieve a solid customer service and supply chain vision for the CEEGI region. You build high performing teams by developing, motivating and retaining your reports, clearly defining team member responsibilities and empowering them to fulfill these objectives. You determine performance objectives / metrics and measure progress to ensure consistent achievement of business objectives. By analyzing the performance data, you initiate projects to re-engineer processes, improve procedures and internal training documents, leveraging and enriching company best practices and standards. Another important part of your job is ensuring that in-country physical distribution activities are performed efficiently, effectively and in compliance with quality guidelines and distribution practices specific for medical devices.

In cooperation with the Sales force you optimize our channel strategy and distributors contracting model. You govern the performance of inter-company and external service providers, to optimize the distribution network and flows across the Region. Finally you personally cultivate and maintain strong business relationships with key customers to identify joint process improvement opportunities and to manage customer forward integration initiatives.

Your Profile

• Advanced degree (Masters or MBA)
• 10+ years of international Supply Chain Experience
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong knowledge of advanced practices in supply chain and customer service
• Experience with leading cross-functional resources in a multicultural matrix environment
• Excellent Project management skills
• Experience in Healthcare / Life Sciences industries is a plus
• Experience within the CEEGI region is a plus
• Willingness to travel extensively within Europe (50%)
