The organisation

For a medium size Biotechnology organisation that is rapidly expanding their business, we are looking for a Drug Development Project Leader that can take ownership of their global drug development projects within multidisciplinary research groups.

You will work closely with their internal and external Project and Strategy Teams to ensure the development and implementation of robust research plans and strategies, tracking progress against plans and program goals, as well as effective communication across all internal and external stakeholders.

The position

Having a strong scientific background and extensive experience with pre-clinical and early development phases is mandatory. This also requires the ability to identify and communicate business risk to stakeholders and identify mitigation and concept strategies.

This individual will be a key player in meeting the organisations objectives and ensuring the success of their development efforts. Being creative in the way to solve unusual development programs is of high importance in this current setting.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional pre/ clinical stage programs and development teams to ensure the development of robust strategies and integrated project plans, including evaluation of new drug development opportunities, options and scenarios, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional communication to enable the team to meet the program goals
  • Meet with stakeholders, coordinate consensus, prepare plan
  • Budgeting: contribute to the project resource allocation and external expenses
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation in MS projects
  • Develop recommendations and operational program plans to achieve scientific objectives and corporate objectives for pipeline growth.
  • Facilitate internal decision-making processes and provide regular updates to senior management.

Candidate profile

  • Master or above degree in life sciences or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2-7 years of multidisciplinairy drug development project management experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals
  • 10 years research experience in either discovery/ pre-clinical or early stage drug development
  • Experience to manage external vendors, CROs, and consultants.
  • Strong problem solver and scientific attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills for both internal and external audiences
  • The knowledge to influence without direct authority
