Situation
The company aims to further grow its commercial activities in the Benelux, covering both the dealer market, independent dentists and Dental Groups (DSO) as well as the dental laboratories. The Benelux market is/has been a stable and profitable region, hence the reason for the company to give it an extra push and grow market share in both segments. The company is known for its broad range of high-quality products and the company is currently further developing new (digital and conventional) products to extend their service and product offering. 

The position

For their activities in the Benelux, the company is looking for an entrepreneurial and pro-active Sales Manager, responsible for leading the Sales Team and developing the commercial activities in the region.

Tasks & responsibilities

Introduction to the role of the Sales Manager Benelux

The Sales Manager position is vacant due to the fact that the current incumbent, who had the combined responsibility of Country manager and Sales manager will be promoted internally to an international marketing role.

The Sales Manager will manage 5 Sales Reps, in Belgium and The Netherlands across dentistry sales and Lab Sales. S/he will develop within the sales team a pro-active/hunter approach to grow market shares and will make sure to keep new acquired customers loyal to the brand, for a long-term, sustainable growth.

One of the key challenges and deliverables in this role is to further develop (Key) Account Management and to nurture the relationship with the dealers. The new incumbent contributes to the maintaining of the leading position of the company and plays an active role in the achievement of the ambitious growth plans of the company in Conventional and Digital dentistry. It is important to mention that the company is looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with runway. 

Main Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Help maintain and expand relationships with dentists, labs, providing excellent services and solutions.
  • Develop Dealer and Key Account Management plans.
  • Execute those actions plans together with the sales team.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure proper commercial communication to the market.
  • Responsible for the assessment of performance of dealers and customers.
  • Accompanies sales reps on sales visits and develop new account acquisition, maintaining high level customer relationship.
  • Develop relationships with partners, key stakeholders to grow the business.
  • Monitor industry trends and develop commercial activities accordingly.
  • Coach and manage the Sales Team

Position in the Organization

  • The Sales manager Benelux reports directly to the Managing Director France. S/he will be working closely together with international colleagues at the same level, to further develop synergy/best practices towards cross border (Key)accounts, especially with the French Sales Managers.

Location

  • The position is home office based.
  • The Benelux headquarter is in Haarlem, the Netherlands.
  • Requires occasional international travelling.

Candidate profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration or related.

Background and Experience

  • Proven success and progressive career path in the medical device industry; Experience in the dental area is a strong plus.
  • Relevant years of experience in sales/account management.
  • Strong track record in indirect / dealer sales; Experience in Key Account Management is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
  • Provides leadership and coaches own organization.
  • Due to the broad scope of the role, we are looking for a strong and dynamic leadership style to help support and implement the company strategy.
  • Experience in coaching/managing a team.

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in Dutch/Flemish, French and English; verbal and written.
