The position
You are a driven and experienced sales professional with a deep passion for the maritime industry. With an entrepreneurial mindset and a strategic vision, you are ready to contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic, globally operating port agency. As S5’s Sales Director, you will be instrumental in elevating the Dutch branch office to new heights.
S5 is embarking on an exciting phase of its journey, continuing its ambitious growth strategy while shifting its commercial focus from a global to a more national perspective. Committed to maintaining its position as an industry leader, S5 is focused on innovation and digitalisation to stay ahead of the competition.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Country Manager, taking the lead in guiding the company through the strategic steps necessary to strengthen its competitive edge and accelerate its growth trajectory. Your primary focus will be on the Dutch market, with the opportunity for cross-sales and collaboration on initiatives such as hinterland propositions.
Tasks & responsibilities
You have the maritime and logistics markets figured out. You understand supply chain characteristics, trade and commodity flows and feel very comfortable in a commercial role. Developing business, expanding your network and connecting people gives you energy. You are a true sales leader; a team builder with natural authority and vision, taking responsibility and possessing a sales grant factor. The role has a strong customer facing focus and you will, therefore, act as the face of the company. In addition, you will play an important role in positioning the company as trusted partner in the maritime industry.

Candidate profile
- Experience in a commercial role within the maritime industry, experience at a shipping agency is a plus
- Track record in sales and business development, a keen business acumen and the ability to quickly assess risks and opportunities
- Strong industry network on C-level in/of dry, liquid or break bulk, charterers, ship owners/operators, logistics service providers
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, innovative, energetic, with an ability to focus in a dynamic environment
- You are a strong networker, actively generating leads and attending networking events.
