Our Client is the world-leading company in its segment and supplies plagiarism prevention and online grading software used by 1.6 million instructors at more than 10,000 institutions in more than 135 countries. Access is provided online through the web interface but also provided via integration to a variety of Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environments (VLE). The high level of usability, most innovative and effective online technology and strong support capabilities are just a few reasons for the excellent market position and the well-known customer base. In order to further expand the company and to lift a great market potential, we are looking for someone with a strong personality to join the newly created position in Utrecht a Sales Director Region North West Europe.

The position

  • Be responsible for all sales activities in the region and the development of the sales strategy and the operational consequences for the region
  • Implement sales strategies and provide excellent customer service to existing and potential customers
  • Lead and develop all Account Managers in the sales region while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals  
  • Establish performance goals for the sales employees and monitor performance on a continual basis
  • Develop and implement new sales processes and procedures (Account Management, Reference Selling, Solution Selling etc.)
  • Seek out and target new strategic customers and new sales opportunities, initiate action plans to approach and secure new business for the company
  • Develop and/or maintain business relations with all Key Account customers on Top Level
  • Be a member of the European Management Team and report to the Corporate VP International

Candidate profile

We are looking for a performance driven entrepreneur who sees the big picture and designs strategic targets into operational actions and results. Your profile:

  • At least 5-8 years’ experience in sales/ account management and minimum 5 years of experience in sales management. Experience in sales to educational institutions, especially in e-learning is an advantage
  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Engineering, Technology)
  • Ability to lead and develop the sales team, by improving sales performance, sales capabilities, processes and systems
  • Proven record in managing Key Accounts while delivering appropriate levels of service to meet /exceed sales and business targets
  • English and at least one (more desirable) other major European language
  • Action and performance orientation with a high focus on results, well organized and structured to run and finish project with different sales cycles
  • Acting as a role model for the  team, creating value for the organisation in developing best practices in sales processes
  • Professional, senior and reliable attitude to talk on eyelevel to the senior management of the customer and internally
