The organisation

Dutch Thermoplastic Components (DTC) is a highly specialised manufacturer of structural parts for aerostructures. Since the creation of the company in 1998, DTC has been making all its parts exclusively from thermoplastic composites. The first flying parts for aircraft that DTC manufactured where the landing flap ribs of the Dornier 328 jet. Today, DTC manufactures more than 2.000 unique part numbers for 12 different types of large passenger aircraft and business jets. Parts are manufactured at their 5.000 m2 factory in Almere, the Netherlands where 90 employees put their heart and soul in their work to make DTC the world leader in thermoplastic composite parts for the aerospace industry.
DTC has shown a revenue growth of 300% over the past three years and expects to triple their revenue over the next five years.

The position

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for identifying, targeting, qualifying, and generate leads with new and existing customers in order to meet and exceed revenue and margin objectives for the company's products.
This will include price management support, lead pre-qualification, quote follow-up, backlog reviews, customer relations initiatives, participation in business reviews, engineering coordination, CRM management & leadership, and any other task directly related to supporting our client's product lines and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Tasks & responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead all RFQ, tender and quotation activities and prepare bids.
  • Communicate market trends, competitive info, new opportunities, and the voice of the customer to the management team.
  • Research, develop and implement strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development.
  • Engage with customers to ensure our client is maximising value-add, additional system content, and new product development opportunities.
  • Leverage current portfolio of products and services that are aligned with the segment and business strategies to drive growth.
  • Initiate product revenue growth strategies including product family positioning, market and competitive analysis, market segmentation and market penetration.
  • Develop a budget for all sales and marketing activities and participate in the business planning.
  • Analyse and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through in-depth knowledge of assigned products, customer's organisation, applications, providing timely communication and follow up. Pro-actively seek mitigation of situations where there is risk for customer dissatisfaction.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and best practices to drive efficiency and commercial excellence.
  • Represent and promote the company at global community and/or business meetings.

Candidate profile

  • BSc/MSc degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Network in Aerospace markets (OEM, Tier1) required.
  • Experience within composite construction materials and techniques is a plus.
  • A "hunter" - a hands-on individual with a tenacious focus on teaching the art of identifying and closing new business opportunities.
  • Strong balance of curiosity, strategic thinking and creativity.
  • Strong market, financial and business acumen; ability to evaluate new business opportunities and measure risks.
  • Strong negotiation, cognitive, analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage from a home office.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% to customer locations.
  • Strong command of the English language. German and French are beneficial.
