Our client is a global chemical producer of Silicones with over 15.000 employees. The company is known for having a very social approach to employees and providing an open, friendly, and respectful work atmosphere.

The position

The Sales / Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in managing business activities at existing and new customers within the Benelux region, France, and the Nordics. The primary focus is on Market Segments such as Plastics, Additive Solutions, and Precision Casting.

In addition to these responsibilities, the role involves supporting the development of the Silanes business, with a specific emphasis on organofunctional silanes. This support spans across all market segments in the EMEA region and is done in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Primary contact / interface to all Business Team customers in the Benelux region, France, and Nordics. Assuming responsibility for all commercial and technical topics related to the accounts with the support of technical experts.
  • Analyzing relevant market information and trends relating to the region, transferring these into business opportunities.
  • Willing to develop, explain and sell own ideas internally and towards the customer to bring the business forward.
  • In close alignment with the Business Team, set goals, design strategies, develop and execute sales plans.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will be a creative and dedicated sales professional with a track record of success and should possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Ideally, the candidate should have proven experience in Sales, specifically in Plastics, Additive Solutions, and Precision Casting.
  • The candidate should be goal-oriented, passionate about Sales and Technology, and demonstrate a willingness to learn quickly.
  • A determined individual with the ability to transform business opportunities into successful sales outcomes.
  • Ideally, the candidate should have a background in Plastics, Additive Solutions, and Precision Casting. Experience with Silicone chemistry is considered an advantage.
  • The ability to integrate quickly into a new, matrix-type organization.
  • An excellent communicator who excels in building and fostering relationships, both externally and internally. Strong negotiation skills are crucial.
  • Highly independent and open-minded, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international team.
  • A university degree, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • Fluent in English, with knowledge of Dutch, French, and German being advantageous.
  • Fluency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is a must for internal reporting, demand forecasting, and presentations. The ability to work with digital communication tools such as Teams, WebEx, Skype, etc., is essential.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, especially Salesforce, and knowledge of SAP is highly preferred.
