The organisation

Our partner is a European, fast-scaling FinTech SaaS providing ESG, sustainability, and regulatory data management solutions to financial institutions. The platform enables asset managers, asset owners, insurers, and banks to manage ESG data, meet regulatory requirements, and embed sustainability into investment and reporting workflows.

The company is headquartered in Europe and has grown rapidly to over 100 employees across multiple countries, supported by a recent €25m funding round to accelerate international expansion. Its client base includes tier-one global financial institutions, providing strong credibility and reference power as it enters new markets.

Following a successful UK launch, Germany is the next strategic priority. The company is taking a long-term, enterprise-first approach, starting with a senior, local commercial leader to establish revenue and build the foundations for future scale.

The position

(This is a Germany-based role, preferably Frankfurt, and a C2/bilingual of German is a must to be a successful applicant)

You will be the first commercial hire in Germany, owning the market end-to-end in a hands-on, individual contributor role. Your mission is to establish the company as a trusted ESG and regulatory partner for large German financial institutions.

This is a true greenfield role, combining strategic GTM ownership with complex enterprise selling. Subject to success, the role can evolve into a local leadership position with responsibility for building a German team.

You will:

  • Own and execute the go-to-market strategy for Germany, starting with asset managers as the core target segment
  • Drive new business through outbound prospecting, relationship-building, and leveraging warm introductions
  • Run complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles (9–12+ months) with C-level decision-makers
  • Close enterprise deals with ~€200k ACV, typically structured as multi-year contracts
  • Act as the local market expert, feeding back structured insights on positioning, objections, and competitive dynamics to HQ

Candidate profile

Experience

  • 5+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience, ideally selling SaaS solutions to asset managers, insurers, pension funds, or adjacent financial institutions
  • Proven success managing long, complex sales cycles with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a greenfield environment with limited local infrastructure

Personality / Soft Skills

  • Highly autonomous, resilient, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong relationship builder with credibility at C-level
  • Structured and disciplined seller (experience with MEDDIC or similar frameworks is a strong plus)

Languages: C2/bilingual German & professional working proficiency in English

Location: Frankfurt preferred, but open to exceptional candidates based elsewhere in Germany, with willingness to travel regularly.

  • Base salary €100k + uncapped commission (€200k OTE, 50:50 split, accelerators available).
