The position

The International Sales Manager is responsible for positioning the company to deliver economic driven sales activities for Waste to Energy-, Power-, Pulp & Paper and Heavy Industry acquiring new customers and building long-term relationships with existing customers, maintaining and developing networks in the assigned region (within Europe).

This in accordance with the commercial policy and in close cooperation with the Sales Director Europe and the General Manager to achieve the targets regarding turnover and profits, as well as the targets with regards to consolidation and optimization of relationship with customers.

The International Sales Manager reports to the Sales Director Europe.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop a sales plan for the customer base that defines the strategy/actions required to achieve commercial goals and growth objectives
  • Follows developments in the (Waste to Energy-, Power-, Pulp & Paper and Heavy industry) market
  • Develop rapport and stablishing strategic relationships
  • Own sales opportunity creation and management, facilitation the proposal process (including Tender’s action list)
  • Provide intelligence to the company on competitor’s activities
  • Deliver powerful presentations at national and international level to communicate the company’s value proposition to clients and identify opportunities
  • Will represent the company on conferences, exhibitions and seminars
  • Maintaining relationships with clients in our existing data base and performing commercial interventions with both existing- and potential customers
  • Analyze needs of prospects, identifying the interest of prospects for products or services by building a strategy for short term projects and long-range partnerships through various sales channels (Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), End Customer and Technical Influencers etc.)
  • Plan and execute an extensively weekly travel schedule to meet minimum customer meetings required
  • Fulfilling an ambassador for the company in a broad sense and being a regional contact

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Technology or related field
  • Technical Sales experience (preferably in the Waste to Energy or Power Industry)
  • Broad mechanical maintenance service knowledge (and also experience preferably)
  • Commercial experience in an international environment, with proven track record preferably in the maintenance and/or service industry
  • Consultative and Strategic Sales experience with big accounts (key account leadership)
  • Experience with external principals in a B2B environment
  • Prepared to travel extensively (up to 60% depending on candidate’s location)
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, knowledge of multiple languages (German preferably)
