The organisation

Our client Komori is a highly successful, multi-national corporation, manufacturing some of the world's best-selling printing presses, widely used in commercial and packaging printing. At the core of our business is product innovation, excellent ROI and customer service and good people.

The European Operations (with HQ in Utrecht - NL) cover full sales, marketing, distribution and service operations as well as the supply of consumables and spare parts throughout the EMEA territory. Utrecht is also the base for the European training, research and demonstration centre.

The position

As business is becoming more diversified and complex and is growing, we are looking for an industry-experienced and professional: Director of Distributor Sales – Printing Industry.

Tasks & responsibilities

As Director of Distributor Sales you will take responsibility for managing a number of distributors in the EMEA region (typically one distributor per country). This opportunity requires a lot of hands-on involvement in a flat hierarchy / organisation with quick decision making.

  • Work very closely with distributors in EMEA to understand market requirements.
  • Inform and train distributors with respect to Komori products and strategies.
  • Pro-actively advice distributors in developing opportunities.
  • Support distributors in responding to opportunities, both commercially and technically.
  • Assist distributors in understanding customer needs and promoting the best solution.
  • Regularly connect directly with customers.
  • Exposure to top management with direct report to the COO.

Candidate profile

  • We are looking for a self-motivated team player that will flourish in a creative and energetic environment.
  • Circa 5+ years of relevant work experience in international sales with respect to complex capital/technical equipment.
  • Ability to lead and manage cross functional projects.
  • Ability to develop networks and be a brand ambassador.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within EMEA and to Japan.
  • High level of personal energy, commitment, flexibility and ability to work in a multi-national matrix organisation with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to communicate internally and externally with people who have different cultural backgrounds.
  • Good Office and Salesforce.com skills.
  • Near native English proficiency is a must. Other European languages are a plus.
  • Bachelor or University degree in marketing, business, technology, or relevant field of study.
  • You must reside in Europe or ideally commutable location to the Utrecht HQ in The Netherlands with proper visa status. We do not sponsor visas.
