The organization

For one of our clients, a global, innovative company and market leader providing sustainable solutions for the building and construction industry, we are looking for a Country Manager Benelux, located in the Netherlands. The company manufactures and distributes high-quality, durable, and low-maintenance cladding products for commercial, residential and industrial applications.

The position

The Country Manager is responsible for sales organization, including sales, marketing and customer service in the Benelux area. The overall goal is to drive the company’s growth and profitability and guide it towards long-term success. With the goal to double the turnover in the next couple of years, s/he develops a high-level strategy and translates these into concrete regional action plans and sales targets. Establishing a high-performance culture, supporting the team’s development, and building and maintaining key strategic partnerships with OEM’s, retailers and the stakeholders of the project life cycle are the key factors for success.

Candidate profile

Background and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business management or technical area.
  • 12+ years of sales experience with turnover, volume and profit responsibility. Proven track record in executing multi-channel/ multi-level sales approaches and key account management. Has developed strategies and (regional) action plans.
  • Experience in international matrix organization within building and construction industry and ideally strong network across a variety of stakeholders (e.g. architects, dealers, installers, OEM’s, retailers). Preferably solid knowledge of drywall/cladding.
  • Proven commercial and customer-facing successes, managing customer projects, and winning large contracts and new clients.
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams (including sales, marketing, and customer service) of 10+ people.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English. Fluency in German is considered a plus.

  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with long-term vision. Able to locate gaps, develop sales and marketing strategies and translate them into concrete action plans.
  • Innovative, with continuous improvement mindset. Looks for opportunities and solutions in order to achieve the plan, rather than changing it.  
  • Excellent stakeholder, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to tailor and communicate complex business ideas, use the right arguments with different internal and external stakeholders and focused on negotiating best deal.
  • Inspiring leader and team player. Able to coach and drive people on all different levels with different backgrounds. Supports development and growth of people.
  • Entrepreneurial. Identifies, and pursues trends and business opportunities in the construction/cladding market. Ambitious to achieve double/triple-digit growth.
  • Sales driven and self-confident. Passionate about sales and developing new business.
