Commercial Director

The organisation

The company manufactures high-quality ingredients. Supplies manufacturers of food, feed and pharmaceuticals worldwide. With global coverage and further investments coming up, the company has formulated a strong growth strategy for the future.

The position

The Commercial Director will report to the Managing Director. He/she will lead a team of approximately 30 employees and has 11 direct reports. The objective of the position is to initiate and develop a Marketing & Sales strategy, in line with the overall strategy, resulting in the agreed upon objectives.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop a business plan, in line with the Marketing & Sales strategy, resulting in an action plan
  • Monitor the execution of the Marketing & Sales strategy and Business Year Plans and take corrective actions in case of deviations resulting in the agreed upon objectives
  • Steer the process of monitoring, analyzing and reporting on trends and developments in the applicable market(s), resulting in the timely availability of accurate market information
  • Steer the process of improving existing and developing new products/packaging, resulting in products/packaging which meet customer needs
  • Initiate and monitor the execution of the sales of ingredients in line with the available products and the agreed stock levels of the products
  • Managing the financial process
  • Manage the human resources management process, resulting in the desired organizational structure, culture and workforce

Candiate profile

The Commercial Director has an excellent knowledge of the international B2B Food business. He/she has broad experience in leading a commercial department and a proven track record in best practice sharing. The company is looking for a Commercial Director that takes the lead and becomes the figurehead of the commercial department. He/she has the ability to enthuse and connect and thinks in concepts. A Commercial Director with the ambition to grow.

  • Master Degree (MSc/MA/MBA) working and thinking level, preferably in Food/Feed ingredients (technical background)
  • Excellent commercial skills in B2B Food industry
  • Experience in a B2B production environment
