Company Profile

The Commercial Director is a starting position for an international career at SHV, based in Heidelberg and be part of the board of ECH.

The Clean Energy Company (“TCEC”, www.thecleanenergycompany.com) is a daughter company of SHV (www.shv.nl). TCEC is the majority shareholder in Energie Contracting Heidelberg AG (“ECH”) (www.ec-heidelberg.de).
ECH Group is a quickly growing biomass energy contracting (heat-on-the-meter), Biomass CHP (Combined Heat Power) and wood pellet production and sales company. ECH is among the top-3 of independent German renewable energy contracting companies and employs presently 70 people.
ECH’s business model is based on developing renewable energy ‘hubs’ targeting mainly industrial and commercial customers. In first instance bigger scale biomass CHP projects are built to deliver heat/ electricity to a number of larger customers. ECH then stepwise acquires further energy contracting customers in the area increasing operational density. Provided the project has competitive access to feedstock, a wood pellet plant can be added adjacent to the biomass CHP.

Job Description

Presently pellets are sold to large wholesalers or to utility companies for co-firing. To increase the income from the sale of pellets, ECH wants to move closer to the end-user, by selling to dealers (like distributors of heating oil or animal feed) and directly to larger commercial/industrial customers. These activities will be developed as part of a new department to be set up. ECH is looking for a commercial talent, to build this new department from scratch. The key success factors would be to find and bind dealers, the national branding of pellets, to find co-operation with business partners like installers, specifiers, boiler manufactures and other pellet producers and to deliver world class service and product quality.
We are looking for a business leader with a proven track record in developing distribution channels for consumer products and who is able to operate in a growth oriented business environment without losing sight for structure and control. He or she has experience in working with business partners, with whom he/she shared the benefits of the network and gained market leadership.

Requirements

  • A University background in Economics or Business Administration
  • International business experience 
  • Commercial experience in B2B and B2C
  • Experience in heating oil, LPG or renewable energy (biomass) is a plus
  • International mobile
