The position

Strategic executive position at a purpose driven market leader where providing direction, while leading yourself and engaging others are the pillars of the high performing culture.

Tasks & responsibilities

In this crucial strategic position the broad portfolio of the Commercial Director / CCO addresses both an innovation / development / planning scope as well as an execution / performance / result impact scope. The Commercial Director is responsible for driving Marketing and Direct / Indirect Channel strategy and activities across all channels for the different labels of the organisation. with a clear impact on revenue, volume, margin and long-term Brand and Indirect Channel steering KPI's. Marketing-, key account- and salesstrategy are the three main pillars in this executive position.

There is a key focus on the development and implementation of digital technologies to improve the customer and people experience, while driving efficiencies across the business. Besides leading the marketing and sales teams of the different labels, the Commercial Director / CCO is the lead of two cross-functional teams, with a broad commercial responsibility: Customer Journey and Commercial Planning.

The Commercial Director is interacting intensively with Sales / Operations and business partners.

This broad scope requires a specific personality and a broad set of talent/skills on leadership, planning, innovation/digital management, program management, performance execution, co-creation and content direction/coaching (proposition, pricing, advertising, digital).

Requirements

  • University degree or post graduate qualification
  • Experienced Marketing Director or General Management level vertically integrated product / service which is customer intimate, multisite, flat structured and in a tough highly competitive environment
  • A minimum of 10 years commercial experience operating at a senior management involved in Strategic Marketing and Sales
  • Experience leading and managing specialists in marketing and customer journey disciplines and other internal service areas
  • Proven track record in dealing with the complex business issues in the dynamics of direct and indirect channels
  • Proven success in accomplishing change in a setting that is characterized by competing interests
