We are seeking to appoint an Energy Sector Business Development/Sales Lead for a global enterprise technology brand. The scope of this role is to provide sales leadership and execution into the Energy sector across Germany.
Location: Germany, Austria or Switzerland
Key Responsibilities:
  • Executing the strategy and direction for sales activity into the Energy sector across Germany.
  • Meet and exceed sales and new business development targets
  • Contribute to development of product and vertical market strategies through an effective partnership with product management and marketing teams to share information on potential vertical applications, market potential and product requirements.
  • Taking input and support from the US to align corporate strategy into the EMEA operations and working closely with the regional and local business units to ensure those strategies are converged.
  • Identifying key markets and key customers within those markets that offer optimum opportunities for business development and the winning of market share.
  • Delivering a structured planned account methodology.
  • Building and executing account plans in conjunction with the local account managers on the key opportunities/customers.
  • Holding Executive level relationships with senior customers and partners
  • Taking the leadership role in critical escalations to ensure customer success
  • Participate in trade shows, seminars and other sector specific marketing activity
Key knowledge & skills include:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in technology sales/business development is desirable in addition to a Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5-7 years selling into majors customers in the Energy, Utilities and/or Power sector in Germany.
  • Previous experience in the Energy market. Strong and leverage-able contacts in the Energy market required.
  • Experience developing sales strategies, preparing proposals and quotes and presenting solutions
  • Broad-based technological awareness
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong presenter and closer with the ability to demonstrate the necessary skills to negotiate issues with peers, partners and customers using a Win/Win philosophy
  • Creative innovator who is a proactive team player
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Good relationship building and consultative skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a dynamic ever changing environment
  • Ability to travel
