To support the development and strengthen the commercial team our client is expanding. The Business Development Manager will report to the Managing Director. The main office of our client is in the center of The Netherlands.

The position

For one of our clients, we are searching for a Business Development Manager Europe – Functional Fillers.

International challenge for an experienced business development / salesperson, who likes to build relationships throughout Europe in a variety of industrial sectors. Job with a wide scope of responsibility within a growing organization focused on creating added value for their customers and strategic supply partners.

Tasks & responsibilities

Your responsibility is to prospect, prepare and secure sales. You work in close contact with the entire organization and manufacturing partners (General Management, R&D, quality, supply chain, manufacturing).

The product line you are handing is Functional Fillers. Your clients are active from paint & coatings to plastics, to catalysts, to paper and rubber. In product applications such as pigment extenders, flatting agents, thickening agents, and fillers. You will be responsible for the European area.

Your marketing responsibilities will include:

  • Update & develop an understanding of your markets and products.
  • Understand the competitive offers and pricing mechanisms.
  • Deliver the company strategic message and positioning to the relevant market segments.
  • Propose updates & implement a coherent sales strategy.

Business development & sales responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the business development efforts in your markets to be ready to sell products.
  • Execute and supervise the full sales process from forecast to order till the delivery of the products and payment at due date.
  • Identify and lead the process to obtain required labels, standards and certification in your market segments.
  • Develop & maintain adequate marketing tools (brochures, presence in shows, online data, technical literature).
  • Propose and execute market strategy & account plans.
  • Adopt and utilize digital tools (CRM, ERP) as appropriate.

Candidate profile

You have extensive international sales and/or business development experience in the field of minerals or relevant chemicals, ideally with Functional Fillers in the defined European markets. You are holding a university/college degree in engineering and/or business.

You are hand-on, focused on growth, with a strong capability to develop and maintain an excellent relationship with customers. You are creative, rigorous, self-motivated and convinced by the contribution of sustainable solutions to customers. You have a strong capability and willingness to adapt permanently to an agile fast moving and evolving organization.

Proficiency in English is required, ability in German, French and another European language would be a plus.
Working from a home-office and frequent international travel.
