Since their expansion they’ve encountered huge demand for their groundbreaking technology. The Bid & Proposal Manager will have the opportunity to work with some of the leaders in the robotics and automation space globally.

The position

The Bid & Proposal Manager at Mujin is a strategic role responsible for understanding customer’s needs and designing solutions around those requirements. An ability to understand automation and material handling systems and their current restraints is vital to helping Mujin’s clients improve their capabilities by using robotic technology.

The Bid & Proposal Manager will review customer’s documentation such as RFQ’s, RFPs, SOWs, and layouts, create system architecture, technical documentation, and give input to equipment and design selection. They will communicate solutions to the customer by creating quotes, supporting documentation, and assisting with layouts.

This role reports to the CEO of Mujin Europe. As the Bid & Proposal Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to take full ownership of projects by managing different stakeholders and ensuring the project bid is delivered on time. The Bid & Proposal Manager should be comfortable working individually and as a contributor on the Sales team while also acting as a liaison to other departments. This role requires travel, with up to 20% of the time spent at customers’ sites, tradeshows, and events.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop and execute proposals, estimate resources (people, schedule, and budget), analyse RFPs and create outlines
  • Engage with Sales Managers and the CEO to craft proposal strategy and develop compelling messaging that addresses the value add of the Mujin offering
  • Create compliant, compelling proposals that clearly and succinctly address the RFP requirements
  • Ensure on-time delivery of proposals and document lessons learned to improve processes
  • Manage team of other Proposal Engineers
  • Manage multiple sales projects simultaneously

Candidate profile

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related disciplines
  • 10+ years technical knowledge/background in material handling processes
  • Extensive knowledge of Warehouse systems, Parcel, Automotive, and 3PL systems
  • Understanding of all types of automation solutions such as conveying, ASRS, goods-to-person, sortation, palletising, depalletising, piece picking, automated vehicles, and industrial/collaborative robots
  • Must be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
  • Extensive experience working with MS Project and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Pragmatic approach to balance quality, lead time, costs and technology
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with international teams operating on different time-zones
  • Strong team collaboration
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to be able to lead presentations and meetings
  • Must be reliable, provide timely responses and consistent follow-up
  • Ability to self-motivate and adapt to changing priorities
  • A passion for cutting-edge technology
  • Well-rounded, believing in the power of robotics
  • A valid Driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25%
