The organisation

Our client is a global specialty chemical company that produces a broad range of products. With a portfolio they deliver innovative products and solutions in attractive end-markets such as transportation, building and construction, and consumables.

As a global company, they serve customers in approximately 100 countries, with revenues of approximately $9.5 billion. The company employs approximately 15,000 people around the world.

The position

  • You are responsible for the preparation, proposal and implementation of the annual sales plan for Care Chemicals in the region: Belgium, The Netherlands, France and Luxembourg
  • You develop market knowledge and a network for your region; you analyze the market, screen potential clients and evaluate competition in order to enhance the business
  • You prepare strategic account plans and negotiate and execute long term supply contracts with key multinational customers
  • You represent sales force in a select number of corporate/business projects
  • You recommend channels of distribution and you advise on pricing and terms and conditions of sales
  • You identify potential customers in the sales zone and develop a commercial approach to reach them
  • You represent to clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails
  • You will be expected to spend a significant amount of your time (ca. 50%) out of the office, visiting clients and prospects in your region
  • You are responsible for your own lead generation and appointment setting and actively and successfully manage the sales process
  • You liaise intensively with the Sales Manager and Market/Business managers, you track and report on revenue and profitability and agree action plans and priorities
  • You use corporate systems and processes and tools such as CRM, sales forecasting, Opportunity Management to communicate with the wider internal organization

Candidate profile

  • You have at least five years of experience in Chemical Sales in an international B2B environment, dealing with customers in Benelux and France
  • Educational level: Bachelors or Masters degree
  • A strong background in chemistry or similar technical discipline is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of English, Dutch and French is a must
  • You possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities are captured and explored
  • You are able to build strong relationships at all levels of the clients' organizations
