Based in The Netherlands, Cordstrap has a global presence of sales offices, factories and distribution partners. They have 500 employees in twenty-two offices worldwide and customers in more than countries.

Cordstrap is creating a fit-for-future sales approach where commercial teams achieve the ideal balance between customer acquisition, development, and retention. A model where sales activity is based and focused on potential and high value opportunities in three application segments; Container Protection (CP), Heavy-Duty Securing (HDS) and Palletizing, Unitizing and Bundling (PUB). Container Protection (CP) is the largest and fastest growing segment. Now, competition has followed Cordstrap into this segment and they are focusing on high value products and services, innovation, and cross-selling to maintain their market leadership.

The position

Cordstrap solutions safely transport goods that protect the goods, people handling them, and industrial environments they pass through. Recently, they moved from a product-oriented to a segment-oriented, solutions approach. The Segment Marketing Manager of Container Protection will develop and implement Cordstrap’s strategy for its largest and fastest growing segment. 

Tasks & responsibilities

Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Innovation, the Segment Marketing Manager of Container Protection is responsible for P&L, growth, and profitability targets for the global CP segment. Their mission: to create a clear vision and strategy of where to play/how to win, define concrete objectives and drive the execution.

The Segment Marketing Manager will monitor sales performance and analyze market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and new initiatives. These will fill the innovation pipeline and develop the business. Product portfolio gaps are told to the engineering team and insights are shared across Cordstrap to build deep knowledge of the competitive environment and the CP segment.

In this role, stakeholder management and relationship management are important to drive the change towards a segment focused organization. By engaging the sales regions in North America, Central and Southern Europe, LATAM and Asia Pacific/Middle East, they will establish strong relationships throughout the value chain, from operations and procurement to production to will grow and execute the segment plan.

As a driver of change, this leader needs to be an excellent communicator, resilient and flexible, and enjoy a can-do mentality. The Segment Marketing Manager of Container Protection will play an essential role that enables Cordstrap to shift towards a long-term value creation mentality.
