From raw materials, manufacturing technology, product stewardship and compliance, to logistics, sales, and technical service.

Our client is recruiting a Marketing & Sales Manager for their business in the smart and functional coatings market . With a strong emphasis on sustainable research and innovation they have developed nanotechnology-based products using nanomaterials, preceramic polymers and sol-gel chemistry. These products are applied in self-cleaning, easy to clean, anticorrosion, flame retardant, anti-graffiti and superhydrophobic coatings.

The position

Customers come from a variety of industries, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), applicators, and formulators. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of the vertical and horizontal markets and the opportunities that exist within them. We are looking for market expertise and market intimacy in the nanotech and sol gel field.

The role of the Marketing & Sales Manager shall contribute to the development of sales.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Generate leads, close new business and develop sales of the product range
• Conduct market research and analysis.
• Do market reconnaissance and define market needs.
• Contribute to the Stage Gate Process for new innovations.
• Contribute to product development.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations
• Build and maintain relationships with the market and key players in the market
• Represent the company at trade shows and industry events

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate for the Marketing & Sales manager role has:

• Knowledge in the nanotech field/Sol-Gel and benefits already from a network/introduction in the market at OEM and formulators in the coating industry
• Technical profile with sales and/or marketing experience
• Bachelor/master’s in chemical engineering, or Materials Science (Coating technology) possibly enriched with business education
• International profile. Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal
• Excellent written and spoken English, additional languages considered a plus
• Strong analytical skills and marketing skills
• Driven and results-oriented mindset
• The ability to work independently (remote) and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel extensively in Europe  and occasionally in the USA and other areas
