The position

VTTI is active in bulk storage of fuel and chemicals around the world. The fast-paced, forward looking company has sustained high growth numbers over the past decades. The analytical and communicative VP of Business Performance & Strategy Refresh plays a leading role in both finance and strategy.

The VP of Business Performance & Strategy Refresh is a new position in the company and plays a key role in two areas: finance, planning, and control on the one hand, and business strategy on the other hand. They report to the CFO, Hans van Geloven and have two direct reports.

The VP of Business Performance & Strategy Refresh has several key responsibilities in the finance function. Along with the EVP Finance, they drive the company’s financial perfomance in the face of the new strategy and new financial goals. They analyze the organization’s liabilities and investments in order to perform risk management. They control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure, and decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks. The VP of Business Performance & Strategy Refresh also supervices finance personnel (such as controllers and treasurers) and ensures the cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations. They prepare reliable current and forecasting reports, and ensure compliance with the law and company policies at all times.

On the business and strategy side, the VP of Business Performance & Strategy Refresh balances multiple priorities in a fast-paced team, including responding to leadership or client requests in a timely manner. They collaborate and coordinate with a range of internal stakeholders to structure and solve business problems, and make recommendations to senior management. They support business functions, with an emphasis on team engagement and knowledge sharing activities, reporting, and communications. They maintain excellent commercial and business landscape knowledge, allowing them to provide solid context for critical strategic projects. They drive the annual and multi-year planning processes to establish targets and key initiatives for the future. They deliver crucial management reporting for the leadership team, with actionable insights and updates on performance.

This role is an exciting challenge for a strategically savvy, analytical candidate with proven experience in similar roles, such as investment banking. The right candidate has in-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices, as well as excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods. They solve problems in a structured, methodical way that allows them to make strategic recommendations. Since working with several stakeholders and supervising a team is an important aspect of this role, the candidate also possesses strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. In this role, a team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible strategic individual with the ability to influence in an organization will have the opportunity to contribute to a highly successful, forward-looking company within the extremely relevant energy sector.
