On behalf of Maersk Line in Rotterdam we are looking for an Operations Manager Netherlands – Switzerland

The position

The operations manager is responsible for procuring and managing inland services, terminal landside activities and execution of container maintenance and repair. Further the operations manager is responsible for handling intermodal design and cost picture for country products and products for containers in transit. Ownership of cost saving programs and maintain the best cost/quality in operations and handling the daily operations tasks will also be an important part of the job.

This position is within the heart of the company and acts as a spider in the web linking cross functional activities. The position will require the candidate to perform as a leader by coaching and developing his/her direct reports on both their leadership and functional expertise.

Candidate profile

Candidates with sense of urgency, initiative, ownership and competitive drive to get things done. The type of person is a pro-active, energetic with a positive mentality, enthusiasm, the ability to act and speak in an open, straightforward and constructive manner and can deal with a variety of different stakeholders.

This the position requires conceptual thinking, hands-on management and a high level of interaction with many stakeholders, the candidate should like this varied and broad scope, plus appreciate getting into details while maintaining the overall overview of the strategy. Working experience in the shipping industry and a relevant degree are advantages while the ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing is essential.
