Our client, Nedschroef Machinery in Herentals (Belgium), is part of Koninklijke Nedschroef Holding B.V., headquartered in Helmond, the Netherlands. They are the leading automotive fasteners supplier in Europe. For more than a hundred years the company has been engaged in the development, manufacture and supply of fasteners and special parts for the automotive industry. In addition the company develops and produces superior metal forming machines and tools for the metal forming industry.

Nedschroef Machinery is a leading supplier of multistation, cold and warm metal forming machines. In Herentals Nedschroef Machinery develop and produce machines and tools of the highest quality for markets such as Automotive, Building & Construction and Industrial applications. The plant in Herentals employs 170 fte and has a yearly turnover of approximately 55 million euros.

Currently the group has 24 locations in 14 countries and employs about 1,500 people.

The position

The Managing Director is responsible for implementing and driving growth of the business strategy for the plant. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and ensuring profitability of the plant, including the achievement of operational and financial growth. 

Tasks & responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and develop the plant management team members
• Acquisition, maintenance and efficient utilization of the company's physical assets
• Represent the company at industry associations and outside committees
• Drive and implement the, in close cooperation with you, defined vision and strategy of the organization
• Monitor and control the company's performance and finances in accordance with the budgets approved by the Board of Directors
• Make sure that processes and systems operate the most effective
• Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
• To ensure that the products produced and sold to clients are of high quality in accordance with the company's quality policies
• To ensure that the company meets all its legal requirements, including those relating to Occupational Health and Safety
• Plan and monitor progress of improvement projects regarding safety, quality and costs
• Supervise Management Team, including determining workloads and schedules, evaluating staff performance, providing training, promotions and disciplinary recommendations in close exchange with Group HR
• Maintain close contact with the workforce through key managers to ensure feedback opportunities, the maintenance of good morale and a high standard of staff integrity and honesty

Candidate profile

For this position we are looking for candidates with the following profile:

• A Bachelor degree, preferably in Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
• An extended experience within the automotive or automotive related sector
• A minimum of 7 years' experience in managing a large team
• A genuine, positive and enthusiastic people manager, a connector
• A powerful and innovative leader who is able to make the switch between a technical and strategic level
• Fluent in spoken and written Dutch, good command of spoken and written English and German
