In order to further professionalize the organization and increase profitability, a more global approach is needed for the supply chain.

The position

Therefore, the current organization will be strengthened by introducing a new position, a Global Procurement Director.

Tasks & responsibilities

The Global Procurement Director leads the development of a procurement strategy and sets the definition of requirements, the selection of suppliers, the development of offers, the negotiation of conditions, the development of contracts, and the management and reporting on performance of contracts.

Your primary objective is to realize a cost reduction target of M€10, while ensuring quality and supply availability. Your focus will be on the non-trade related buying, the forwarding process: transport, warehousing and distribution.

With your entrepreneurial skills, you will define and manage Interfood’s procurement strategy in line with the overall Business and SCM mission, vision and strategy.

You will clarify the actions needed to implement it, create a sense of urgency, and motivate people to commit to the strategy. You will develop and oversee an effective strategic sourcing and supplier management program with a strong emphasis on quality, cost, supply availability with the supply base. You will lead the development of partnering relationships with internal and external stakeholders and build mutual trust.

Candidate profile

You have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. You have a proven track record of implementing successful procurement strategies, as well as proven experience in procurement leadership roles, preferably within the dairy industry or related sectors. Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics, market trends, and regulatory requirements is a must. Extensive knowledge of Contract Logistics and Freight Management businesses is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to oversee the bigger picture and connect the dots, and is skilled in translating concepts into actionable and pragmatic steps. You should possess analytical acumen and ambition, coupled with excellent communication skills in multiple languages. Next to strong skills in selecting, negotiating with, and managing suppliers, with a focus on building collaborative relationships to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
