Vice President Legal (Real Estate)

The organisation

Our client is an internationally recognized real estate fund in commercial real estate. 

The position

As a key partner to the business teams in Europe, you will work with the Group General Counsel in the Headquarters office based in Asia to drive the strategy of the European real estate fund by providing critical legal inputs. 

Tasks & responsibilities

• You will have to understand the Group’s strategic objectives, and provide pragmatic advice and solutions to internal clients on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial matters. 
• You will cover the legal and compliance matters for all the regional offices in Europe. 
• You will advise the Management team on all legal and compliance matters which include reviewing transaction agreements and ensuring that all transactional and operation activities are carried out in accordance with local legislations and regulations. 
• You will work closely with the Group General Counsel on key documents as well as to keep Management up-to-date with relevant changes in legislative and regulatory requirements. 

Candidate profile

• You should possess a recognized degree in Law with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant areas and be committed to being part of a dynamic and growing team in Europe. 
• You must be familiar with the European laws including M&A, joint ventures, and real estate matters. 
• To succeed in this role, you should have strong transactional and management skills as well as a high level of integrity. 
• You should also possess intuitive communication and good interpersonal skills. Exposure to complex real estate transactions or fund structures would be an advantage. 
• You should also be able to communicate in English to liaise with colleagues and partners across Europe and Headquarters in Asia. 
• Being multilingual in Dutch / other European languages would be an advantage.
