Ervaren Bedrijfsjurist/Contract Lawyer

The organisation:

LeasePlan an international market and opinion leader in its field and consists of an ever expanding international network of companies. It is currently active in 30 countries. The holding company, situated in Almere – which is regulated as a Dutch bank - has a legal department with 7 lawyers. The legal department focuses on all issues which are typical for a legal department of an international holding company, including corporate law, regulatory matters, M&A transactions, IT-contracts, intellectual property, financing transactions, as well as the larger international business contracts with customers and suppliers. The legal department has developed ambitions to further align with the needs of the business and we can safely say that each lawyer is a professional business partner in legal matters, is in close contact with the business and acts proactively in order to add value tot the business.

Contract Lawyer/Senior Legal Counsel

The position:

As a self-motivated and driven lawyer who identifies himself or herself with the aforesaid ambitions who will be asked to work on and/or develop expertise on some or any of the following areas of law:  intellectual property, IT-contracts, service group service contracts, corporate authorisations, other contracts, corporate legal matters, competition  and business development  issues. Due to the unpredictable workload on M&A transactions you will also assist on various aspects thereof. In addition we ask your support to further develop and roll-out the ambitions of the legal department.

You will report to the Legal Director and be part of a team of 7 lawyers, each with his/her own expertise. You will also have your own client based in Ireland, LeasePlan Infrastructure Services Ltd., as well as the Business Information Management Department in the Netherlands. The international legal team is much larger and you will regularly work together with any of your colleagues abroad, as well as with external legal counsel. Managing the relationship with external legal counsel is very important.

Requirements:

• A qualified lawyer having a minimum of 6 years of sound experience on any of the legal areas described above
• Practical and creative
• Being fluent in Dutch and English
• Who is able to move swiftly in a fast paced environment while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and reliability
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• Active participation in negotiations is required, as well as the ability to convincingly express your opinion regarding legal issues
• Who is a team player
• Who is willing to travel regularly
