Compliance Manager

For one of our clients, Vattenfall Energy Trading, we are looking for a Compliance Manager. Vattenfall Energy Trading is the central trading hub of the Vattenfall group. Our trading house is multi-site located across Europe with more than 400 professionals working in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Stockholm and Warsaw. We operate in the highly volatile energy markets to mitigate risks on behalf of the entire Vattenfall group. We trade commodities like electricity, gas, coal, freight and emissions and take responsibility for a diversified sourcing of fuels and carbon credits. These efforts are the basis for increased customer value, fulfilling the targets of sustainable energy and continuous business growth.

For our office in Amsterdam, Stockholm or Hamburg we are looking for a:

Compliance Manager

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Responsibility for all compliance issues resulting from our physical and financial trading portfolio; 
• First point of contact for exchanges regarding regulatory and compliance matters; 
• Monitor, steer and increase awareness regarding rules and regulations (eg. MIFID) and monitor its effect on our trading portfolio; 
• Responsibility for setting up an integrated reporting process regarding compliance matters for BU Trading;
• Supporting implementation of Vattenfall Group processes and standards;
• Advising and educating managers and staff on compliance related issues and regulations; 
• Reports to Head of Legal of Vattenfall Energy Trading;

Requirements:

• University (law) degree with excellent qualifications; 
• At least five years of working experience with commodity and /or financial markets regulations; 
• Analytical capabilities, interest in energy trading 
• Ambition to work in an international, high performance environment 
• Self motivated and ability to work independently 
• Fluent in English (written & spoken), and either German, Dutch or Swedish; 
• High sense of responsibility 
• Openness, intercultural competence, good communicator
