The position

Can you design the future of ASML in the area of Shop Floor Control with state of the art out of the box IT solutions? Be the spider in the web of Shop Floor Control? Come aboard and be part of one of the most technically developed company of the world.

As an IT Solution Architect, you are responsible for designing the architecture of future IT Solutions.

This starts with an IT roadmap in the area of Shop Floor Control, till the translation of business demands into concrete, state-of-the-art IT solutions for running projects.
You align with colleague IT Architects and Business Architects to ensure a balanced architecture cross process and cross applications.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the IT architecture of the applications in scope
  • Understand, advocate and augment the principles of business and IT — and more specifically enterprise architecture (EA) — strategies
  • Analyse enterprise business context (trends and business strategy) to derive technical architecture
  • Analyse the as-is architecture landscape to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Analyse technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise
  • "Sell" the enterprise architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results
  • Define the principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise
  • Design and lead the implementation of applications based on the guidance of the target architecture and the subsequent Project Start Architectures
  • Identify and rectify gaps and pain points within the current state
  • Oversee or consult on technical architecture (for example, systems) implementation and modification activities (for example, projects), particularly for new and/or shared infrastructure solutions
  • Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations
  • Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs
  • Document necessary technical architecture design and analysis work, possibly including project post-mortem documentation and metric collection
  • You challenge the business requirements & processes in order to realize a fit in standard IT solutions instead of custom build solutions
  • You support the Business Process Analyst in the translation of the business requirements into the right functional IT specifications and IT solution direction
  • Create and communicate technical designs safeguarding the project mgmt. methodology
  • You are the link between the ASML Manufacturing organization (being 5 factories World-Wide), the IT organization and the outsourcing partners
  • For a large part of your time you work in projects as an IT Architect, but you will also support the architecture of Non Standard Changes
  • Uses expertise to advice Project Manager, Solution Team Manager
  • Initiating role with regards to strategic innovations
  • Explains / presents architecture and technical matters in an understanding way IT MT, staff and business stakeholders. Able to explain complex matters in a simple and understandable way
  • Communicates clear to project team and IT about directions and expectations and follow up and feedback on results
  • Content wise your working area will be mainly Manufacturing (Shop Floor Control) & Planning. Focus area’s will be:
    • You work in the Shop Floor Control area from Work Preparation (Production Sequence & Instruction), Planning & optimizing of these sequences to Work Execution of module & machine orders
    • SCADA integration (as well in Manufacturing processes as in Facility Mgt. processes)

Key interfaces

  • Part of virtual architecture team: To determine architectural impact inside domain and inside the application
  • Project Leader : Creation of the architecture designs in the project
    Solution Team Manager: Direct report
  • Subject Matter Experts: determine business objectives & characteristics

Candidate profile

Education

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or Business Administration with proven experience in complex Shop Floor Control processes.

Experience

  • At least ten years’ experience with Manufacturing Execution processes in a discrete manufacturing industry (complex products, low volumes):
    • Discrete industry (Complex products, low volumes)
    • Manufacturing process in general
    • Specific: Shop Floor Control / Manufacturing Execution System knowledge
  • Certified in Archimade® & TOGAF as standard to document the IT Architecture
  • Experience with specifying an IT roadmap
  • Ability to document, validate, challenge business requirements and translate them into functional IT specifications
  • Ability to translate a Functional Design into a Technical Design
  • At least ten years’ experience with IT systems supporting Shop Floor Control & Planning processes:
    • On ERP level : SAP-PP, SAP-PS, SAP-MM, SAP-QM
    • On MES level : SAP-ME / SAP-MII and/or former Visiprise
    • On SCADA level : SAP-PCo
