The position

The Manager ICT has the responsibility for proper operations of all ICT systems in the office, foreign offices and onboard the Jumbo vessels. The Manager ICT will manage the design, implement and maintain the ICT systems that really support and improve the business processes. 

The ICT policy is to focus on information management, rather than technology. Our client has therefore outsourced the ICT office environment to an IT Service Provider. 

The Manager ICT reports to the Director Finance. Our ambition is to make a difference in our business through innovative ICT solutions. 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long-term plans for development and improvement of ICT systems;
  • Maintain and manage the process architecture; advise on improvement and consistency;
  • Manage the ICT department (4 FTE), set priorities, determine the allocation of work and manage the progress;
  • Manage the relations and contracts with suppliers, i.e. with the IT Service Provider;
  • Manage complex ICT projects across multiple departments;
  • Follow developments and trends in ICT, evaluate these for possible application and advice management and board on developments; 
  • Respond to issues and incidents and prevents recurrence;
  • Liaise with managers and (super) users of the systems to actively seek for improvements;
  • Set up the ICT budget for costs and investments and manage the actual costs;
  • Report to the Director Finance regarding the ICT performance

Candidate profile

  • B.sc or M.sc degree in ICT, Economics or Business Administration
  • Experience in a management position
  • Good technical knowledge of ICT systems
  • Working experience in a maritime shipping environment is preferred; alternatively in industry or logistics
  • Experience with managing IT outsourcing suppliers & contracts
  • Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language both written and spoken
