Security
ASML’s Security department protects and secures all of ASML’s physical and digital assets and is therefore pivotal to the company’s customer and supplier relationships. It provides both first and second line security services led by Chief Information Security Officer Dirk van der Horst and is part of Risk and Business Assurance (RBA) department. The team delivers global centralized security services through its operations center, cyberthreat prevention, and security technology. The second line security team, of which the ICS/OT Security Senior Manager is a part, provides the security strategy and roadmap, assesses security risks, monitors compliance, and ensures policies and frameworks are up to date with new insights and regulations. Overall, the Security Community consists of well over 250 professionals across ASML strengthening the protection of the company’s assets and those of their stakeholders to maintain their market position and achieve ambitious growth goals.

The position

ASML’s cutting-edge chip-making equipment empowers its customers to develop faster, smaller, cheaper, and more efficient microchips. The ICS/OT Senior Manager will play a key role in ASML’s Security Leadership Team, ensuring the security of applications and systems vital to maintaining smooth operations across the organization and its partners.

Tasks & responsibilities

As a pivotal member of ASML’s Security Leadership Team, the ICS/ OT Security Senior Manager will ensure the robust security and integrity of ASML’s critical Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS). Leading the charge in developing and implementing cutting-edge OT/ICS security measures, they will oversee system and network security, vulnerability management, and more. Their mission is clear: to protect processes, people, and profit by minimizing security
vulnerabilities and incidents, safeguarding the core of ASML’s operations and that of their partners.

The candidate will join ASML’s Security Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and collaborating closely with teams specializing in IT Security, Product Security, Information & Data Security, and Physical Security Services. The ICS/OT Security Senior Manager will offer expert guidance to sectors across ASML, transforming external trends into actionable security strategies.

The ICS/OT Security Senior Manager’s role is crucial and strategic, requiring decisiveness and confidence in making impactful decisions. Their vision will drive the execution of ASML’s OT/ICS Security Risk Control Strategy. They will design and maintain robust defense mechanisms and cybersecurity solutions that are both preventive and responsive, proactively identifying and mitigating potential threats before they affect the system. By ensuring that responsive measures are in place, they will swiftly contain and neutralize any threats that breach the initial defenses, safeguarding the seamless and secure operation of ASML’s critical processes. Business and people savvy, the Senior Manager builds trust and fosters successful relationships with a variety of stakeholders and third parties. An excellent communicator, they understand how to navigate complex situations and can easily manage multiple stakeholders and tasks simultaneously. The right candidate is knowledgeable about key security frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, SANS, and ISA/IEC 62443 and familiar with project management methodologies such as Prince2, PMBoK, APMP, and MSP. They possess strong market knowledge and stay up to date with emerging trends in the OT/ICS security domain, integrating relevant innovations into ASML’s security strategy.

• Technology environment
• Experience with strategic and tactical 2nd line security
• Experience with control systems risk assessments

• Confident team leader and stakeholder manager
