The organisation
Our client is a multinational offshore company executing large projects for offshore installation, removal and services. Their customers are the top of the oil- and gas companies. For these challenging projects they have a fleet of specialized vessels.
The position
The Senior Compensation & Benefits reports to the Manager Personnel & Organisation.
Tasks & responsibilities
- (Further) development of compensation & benefits
- Make sure that policies and regulations are understood by management and employees
- Aim for a cost efficient use of manpower in terms of direct labor costs (salary and benefits)
- Stimulate the process of legal, tax and insurance improvement and awareness
- Give support and advise on all legal, tax and insurance related matters
- Review and advise on contract terms and conditions of client and subcontractor tender documents
- Identify and advise on (potential) variations, claims and disputes and co-ordinate external legal/insurance/tax advice in relation thereto, including follow-up
- Maintain legal/contractual/insurance know-how by keeping up-to-date with relevant (changes in) legislation as well as market developments
- Prepare, propose, draw up and inform all concerned parties about renewed conditions of employment after approval of management
- Advise on employee related insurances such as pension, travel, accident, sickness, WIA and expatriate insurances or any other employee related insurance relevant to the company
- Maintain contacts with various governmental agencies like departments of labor, immigration, embassies etc. in countries relevant for the company
- Ensure all personal documentation is up-to-date and valid
Candidate profile
- Academic working level combined with at least a bachelor degree or master degree in Civil law and/or a bachelor degree in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant working experience within the field of Compensation & Benefits, preferably in a dynamic and professional international working environment
- Extensive knowledge of cross-border social security, immigration, pensions and employee taxability, preferably knowledge of UK law
- Knowledge of or affinity with tax and/or financial matters is considered an advantage
- Strong communication skills; demonstrated to network with a large variety of stakeholders (among others senior management and staff representatives, external consultants and international organizations)
- Team player with the ability to plan and prioritize tasks
- Good planning and organizing skills and a pragmatic and flexible approach towards changes
- Excellent project management skills and a sound problem solving attitude
- Proactive, informal and independent personality with a drive for improvements and process optimizations
- Capable of delivering high quality output, when needed also under pressure
- Willingness to (limited) travel
