A leading international, industrial player specialised in manufacturing and sales of components for the construction industry. The company has plants and sales offices all over the world.

Position description:

The International HR Manager will join the management team and will report to the EMEA VP HR. He/she will work in very close contacts with the Managing Directors of the plants and the Sales Director, as well as their direct reports.

OBJECTIVE of the position:

The International HR Manager will be responsible for the Human Resources strategy for all the manufacturing and sales sites in Europe (3 plants and 7 sales offices in The Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe). He/she will align HR strategy with business needs and provide professional HR support in the areas of:

  • Management counselling
  • Employment
  • Training and development
  • Employee & labor relations
  • Compensation and performance management
  • Compliance and Ethics
This objective has resulted in the following RESULT AND RESPONSIBILITY AREAS of the International HR Manager:
  • Management
    • Manage a team of 4 HR people
  • Employment
    • Develop adequate recruitment sources
    • Select and assess candidates, conduct background checks, and define offer packages
    • Sponsor the new employee orientation process: follow up on the induction program on a short, mid and long term basis
    • Manage employment/employee issues
    • Liaise with the HR Shared Service Center on new hires, transferring, terminating employee
    • Ensure headcount controlling and reporting.
  • Training and Development
    • Recommend development courses as per business needs
    • Assist in planning and delivery of training events: management trainings, individual adhoc training needs, etc.;
    • Promote employee and career development: promotion, succession planning, talent and high potential pipeline.  
  • Labor relations
    • Work with union representatives, works councils, to resolve labor relation issues.
  • Compensation and Performance Management
    • Ensure consistency of compensation design, salary ranges
    • Manage performance processes, merit reviews, bonus grants
    • Participate to compensation surveys as suitable
    • Work on benefits studies, implementation of appropriate programs.
  • Other
    • Partner with the business to create appropriate key indicators such as absenteeism, productivity ratio, etc.
    • Implement and maintain accurate HR tools: job descriptions, HR reports, etc.
    • Participate to specific HR projects
    • Develop and recommend HR related operating policies and procedural improvements
    • Enhance internal communication: internal newspapers, intranet, etc.
  • Compliance and ethics
    • Sponsor the Company’s Vital Values and deploy the related tools, trainings and communication programs
    • Ensure HR operations are in compliance with all applicable HR laws and best practices
    • Liaise with Legal Advisor on Labor questions, termination processes, etc.

Function profile:

The company is looking for a driven and experienced International HR Manager who has the ability to multi-task and be self-directed/deadline-oriented. Someone with Excellent communication skills and professionalism in all interactions and communications. A Business Partner with responsiveness and great focus vis-à-vis internal customers whose able to work independently together with a team spirit.

There is need for an International HR Manager who can work closely with the managers of the several departments of The company. Someone with a good knowledge of labor laws and strong and successful experience in the field of industrial relations and social negotiations. A strong personality with good communication and interpersonal skills. Someone with a competitive spirit who knows how to motivate and influence people. Someone with insight into the business context, which can distinguish business priorities and provides support for the core processes.

Candidate profile:

  • Academic or HBO+ (Higher Vocational Education) working/thinking level
  • Professional HR level or HR degree
  • Hands-on, with a high energy level
  • Rigorous
  • Self-starter
  • International Experience
  • HR Generalist experience
  • Labor relations experience
  • Industrial background experience, both in Sales and Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of social laws

Salary conditions:

Salary € 100.000 fixed, with a bonus of 20%.Company car and various other benefits included.
